Floating village and airport pickup

Sooo… Back in Siem Reap! Today I will go to the floating village and then pickup Marieke from the airport. Saving loads of cash on TukTuks and tours.

Even more cash saved by going totally off the beaten track… Well a hare could fit trough it so I’d figured my scooter should be OK too :)

Had a beer and decided to skip the floating village, the journey there and all the surprised faces where worth more than money can buy hihi.

Now it’s time for some lunch and then the airport pickup

Marieke is in the building! I picked her up with the scooter :)

Kampot salt ‘N pepper

Kampot to Kep on a scooter. Via the salt fields to the pepper plantations.

It was an awesome day, we drove to Kep via the salt fields in Kampot you could say that counts as a bit of off-road driving.
we went to visit the crab market and continued to Kep Beach for a quick swim (as 38 Celsius on a scooter is not really comfortable)

After the nice cooling down we headed off to Sothy’s pepper plantation.

The guide taking us around was really friendly and most passionate about his plants. He ensures that all plants get the care they need. The plantation is totally organic, ecological and environmental friendly. He also explained about the different kinds of pepper and how quality pepper should taste smell and look like and how you can spot the fakes.

I learned a new recipe for an awesome pepper sauce and tasted that during lunch.

Awesome lunch

We finished the evening with some beers during a pub quiz and got really angry when the answer sheet said The Hague was the capital of the Netherlands…

But it was still a really nice evening and a good day.

Now we are off to the capital of Scambodia!
